We're looking for a Recycling Operative to work for our client. The Recycling Operative will work at the household waste recycling centre, assisting members of the public with the disposal of various items such as washing machines, carpets, wood, and more. The role focuses on maintaining an organized, efficient, and safe recycling environment. If that’s you, then you could be exactly what they’re looking for. Please note: This is initially a temporary role with the potential to become permanent. You’ll need to work weekends and shifts during unsociable hours. Full details will be revealed at the interview. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks as required. Carry out carpentry work including installations, repairs, and maintenance of structures and fixtures. Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and issues. Assist with general facilities management duties as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Document and report maintenance activities and any issues encountered. Key Responsibilities: Assist members of the public with the proper disposal of household waste. Provide guidance on recycling procedures and ensure materials are sorted correctly. Maintain a clean and organized recycling centre. Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor and manage waste containers and areas to avoid overflow and ensure accessibility. Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Communicate effectively with the public and colleagues to maintain a high level of service. Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and able to handle manual labor. Good organizational and time management skills. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Additional Information: The position requires flexibility to work rotational shifts, including weekends. Candidates must be able to start immediately. Reliable transportation to the work site is necessary.
