We are looking for a passionate, committed and young person focused Project Worker to join the new and exciting Barnardo's and Co-op partnership. Offering an As & When contract, this is a fantastic opportunity to have a meaningful impact in and around the Salford community. We support children from lots of different backgrounds and want to reflect their diversity within our staff team.
As a Project Worker within our In Community Services, some of your main tasks will be to deliver the unique young person designed service and facilitate engaging and inclusive group work sessions within your area. These responsibilities will be crucial in understanding the needs of the community while ensuring young people remain at the core of our work. To ensure young people remain at the core of our work, you will need to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the young people in your area - this may include occasional evenings or weekend work and necessary travel within the locality.
About the Barnardo's Co-op partnership In Community Services:
The core focus is responding to basic needs (food), mental wellbeing and opportunities. Young people are being supported to share their ideas and design their service in their areas.
Over the 2 years, a total of 20,000 young people aged between 10-25 years (20 locations in total) will be supported by the partnership focusing on the barriers faced by young people, to improve life chances and social mobility with the following aims:
* Improve mental wellbeing
* Improve access to basic needs (food)
* Improve access to opportunities
Some of the key things the successful Project Worker will have:
* Excellent communication and networking skills
* Confidence in being creative and trying new approaches
* Experience with Safeguarding practices
* Ability to accurately record and input records on Barnardo's Electronic Case systems
* Understanding of responsibilities of volunteers, sharing knowledge and offering support
