An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy and expanding first-opinion practice in the beautiful surroundings of North Cambridgeshire. You would be working within a dedicated team of five vets and four nurses. The ideal candidate will have one to two years of experience and be ready to take the next step in their career in an environment that promotes professional growth and teamwork. Strong communication skills and a passion for collaboration are essential.
The practice is RCVS accredited and holds ISFM Silver Cat Friendly status, reflecting its commitment to high-quality patient care. With a history dating back to 1859, it has established an excellent local reputation for outstanding veterinary services. The team encourages individual development, supporting CPD and certificates in personal areas of interest. Vets are given clinical freedom to work up a varied caseload to completion, supported by excellent equipment including digital X-ray, ultrasound, an air-powered dental machine, and in-house biochemistry and haematology facilities.
This full-time role offers between 32 to 36 hours per week, with a set lunch hour each day and flexibility in working hours for the right candidate. The rota includes a one-in-three Saturday rotation with time off in lieu, and there are no overnight or weekend out-of-hours duties.
The practice is located in a historic town in North Cambridgeshire, known for its elegant Georgian architecture and excellent local amenities, including restaurants, cafes, shops, and inns. Peterborough is just 23 miles away, offering great transport links to London and easy access to the stunning Norfolk coast.
The role comes with a fantastic benefits package, including a salary of £48,000 – £60,000 per annum, 6.6 weeks of paid holiday including bank holidays, a £1,750 CPD allowance per year, and full RCVS and VDS cover, along with two additional professional memberships.
