Priory Hospital Bristol is an elegant 18th century country residence set in beautiful parkland close to the centre of Bristol, less than 5 minutes away from the M32 leading directly onto the M4/M5 motorway. Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group it has 77 beds over seven wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon’s and Dementia. This is an employed post to take consultant responsibility for general psychiatry on our 10 bedded female acute inpatient ward, working with patients coming to the hospital from referrals from the NHS.
The ward has a Multidisciplinary Team including a Speciality Doctor.
1. You will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient and outpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties.
2. You will have experience at consultant level psychiatry and will have held a consultant position in the NHS.
3. You will hold a current license to practice and be on the appropriate specialist register.

4. MRCPsych or equivalent
5. AC approved and S12 approved MHA 1983
6. Previous experience as an NHS consultant
7. Acute inpatient and outpatient experience
8. CCT in General adult psychiatry
9. Experience in working with multi-disciplinary team and being a clinical leader
10. Experience of supervising junior medical staff
11. Experience of working with management team
12. Experience of service change and improvement
13. Experience of involvement in clinical governance and improvement
