The Commercial Product Manager will be pivotal in building on our understanding of our customers and formalizing our capabilities. They should be an expert in organizing and developing commercial structures, evidencing and defining improvements to our volumetric water saving solutions, and translating strategic business needs into proposition and product development.
The Commercial Product Manager will be the voice of the customer, responsible for defining customer requirements and creating a go-to-market strategy, including informing pricing decisions, marketing strategy, and sales training materials.
Responsibilities
1. Gather data and insight to develop and drive the product strategy to maximize the impact of our AI technology in the freshwater and water replenishment sectors. Deliver, with clarity, engaging and exciting positioning for existing and new products and services. Define the product vision and go-to-market strategies.
2. Product Lifecycle Management: Engage with customers and potential customers to identify their priorities for market-winning features and benefits and ensure continuous improvement and evolution of the FIDO proposition based on market feedback and data. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research of proposition against commercial goals, feeding into commercial and financial planning.
3. Market Research & Analysis: Build a deep understanding of our customer base as well as market and competitor dynamics to become a strong ‘voice of the customer’. Use these insights to inform proposition development and positioning strategies, as well as identifying competitive threats.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build close working relationships throughout the company, including R&D, software development, commercial, and marketing to bring the voice of the customer to every step.
5. Customer Focus: Engage with customers and industry stakeholders to gather feedback, validate proposition concepts, and ensure our offerings address real-world problems. Translate customer insights into actionable proposition structures, product features, and improvements.
6. Work closely with software development, engineering, and training teams to ensure correct documentation and written material is available to support our propositions, feeding directly through to marketing.
7. Proposition Launches & Go-to-Market: Lead the planning and execution of proposition and product launches, ensuring each FIDO product or service is fit for purpose prior to launch and that there is alignment across all teams. Work closely with the marketing team to develop compelling and accurate positioning and messaging that resonates with target customers and drives commercial goals.
8. Equip the sales team with the knowledge, tools, and collateral they need to effectively sell the FIDO propositions. Provide ongoing support and training to ensure sales teams are fully prepared to communicate product value. Be accountable and responsible for maintaining key documents including master product specification documents, information decks, and pricing.
