Dudhope Young People’s Unit (YPU) is a mental health inpatient service, in a purpose-built unit, for young people aged 12-18 years who are experiencing complex mental health conditions. The YPU is based in Dundee (17 Dudhope Terrace) and provides 12 beds for patients from across the North of Scotland region (NHS Grampian, NHS Highland, NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland, NHS Tayside and NHS Western Isles). We believe in providing person centred care collaboratively with young people, their families, carers and partner agencies. This role will involve providing a highly specialist Clinical Psychology service to a caseload of young people and their families or carers and providing a specialised resource to other healthcare staff. Y ou will also participate in service development and improvement work and undertake relevant audit, evaluation and research work. This post requires you to have close links and involvement with the multidisciplinary team and multi-agency colleagues throughout the region. Supervision and management support would be provided by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist within the team with access to very experienced and committed clinicians from a variety of disciplines. The role will also involve the supervision, education and development of multidisciplinary colleagues and students within your speciality.
