We are looking for an Internal Communications Officer to join our Communications Office at the House of Lords.
This is a position where you will report to the Head of Internal Communications and work closely with the other members of the Internal Communications team as well as with colleagues from our public enquiry, press and media, events and outreach, and digital and marketing communications teams to achieve our strategic communication objectives.
This is an opportunity to work on a hybrid basis where you will be able to work 2-3 days from home and other days onsite at Parliament! This is an exciting opportunity to work for a prestigious organisation. You will work with members and leaders in the House of Lords, and the role is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop.
You’ll be accountable for:
Communications channels
Producing regular newsletters, including a weekly staff and fortnightly member newsletter – liaising with contributors to ensure content is accurate, well written and signed off.
Maintaining the schedule of content for the newsletters and other communications activities.
Drafting and sourcing news items and articles, sourcing photographs and other supporting materials for newsletters and other communication activities.
Leading on producing and distributing communications regarding facilities, access and events.
Publishing news and newsletters using the intranet’s Content Management System (CMS).
Events
Supporting the delivery of internal events including all staff meetings and staff awards held in the Palace of Westminster.
Supporting the communication and promotion of events including State Opening and visits by heads of state to Parliament.
Assisting with post-event evaluation.

What we’re looking for:
Excellent writing and proof-reading skills.

Experience of using content management systems.
Experience of measuring the impact of internal communications activity.
Experience of filming and video editing.
Experience of using programmes in the Adobe suite – e.g. Photoshop or Indesign.
