We are seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join us, providing solutions and technology support to a creative, fast-paced and lively production studio. They will have responsibility for delivering engineering and software projects for new systems whilst supporting the busy edit suites and production facilities. They will also assist in user support and technical escalations alongside our AV/Post Production, Corporate IT Helpdesk, and Global Infrastructure teams.
The successful candidate will have experience working for a studio or agency in a broadcast/post or VFX environment. They will also be a strong communicator, able to stay calm under pressure, solve problems logically, and manage their own time effectively. They will be passionate about the industry and have boundless energy for problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working on projects for new systems and operations, working proactively under the Production Technology leadership and in collaboration with all other departments to efficiently deliver those projects.
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to the junior engineers providing support.
* Responsible for supporting colour and audio workflows.
* Advise on resolution of technical issues, including hardware, creative software, related peripherals, IT and AV equipment, and asset management.
* Coordinating with our Studio Support Specialists on regular maintenance of edit, audio, and grading suites (which include workstations, AJA/BMD video hardware, displays, AV equipment, etc).
* Collaborating with the infrastructure team on the deployment and management of post-production systems on-prem or in the cloud.
* Ensuring implementation and compliance of client security measures with all systems.
* Producing and maintaining clear and thorough documentation of all post production systems and pipelines.
* Help in user orientation and technology training for new employees and freelancers.
* Work with the security and governance teams to apply our governance frameworks and remediation for infrastructure and data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Manage the governance of SaaS platforms, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Who will thrive in this role?
* Excellent knowledge of various OS platforms.
* Experienced Windows administrator who understands Active Directory, desktop configuration and deployment management tools.
* Strong experience supporting AV systems, hardware and software.
* In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk software, and VFX tools/apps.
* Experience or understanding of CGI workflows and pipelines for post production, and the use of software such as Autodesk Maya, Nuke, Cinema 4D and V-Ray.
* Strong communicator both verbally and written.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills (i.e. ability to deduce root cause of issues).
* Working with ticketing systems, roadmaps, and project plans.
* Strong understanding of networking and storage technologies.
