An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly forward-thinking practice due to staff retirement. The successful candidate would be working at Band 6 and ideally have experience of working within General practice but it is not essential.
The post is 23 hours per week over 3 days and is permanent.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and highly motivated Nurse to provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for our patients. It is desirable for the post holder to have previous experience in treatment room duties, Chronic Disease Management, Cytology, Family Planning, Minor Illness, Travel Health and Immunisations. However, further training and support will be offered to the successful candidate to fulfill the role if required.
About us
We are a large, busy, forward-thinking Practice in the town centre of Bridgend. Our Practice population is 19,078 and we have a mixed patient demographic. We are very proud of our friendly, hardworking team, which includes 8 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, a team of Practice Pharmacists managed by our Senior Pharmacist and a Practice Nurse team led by our Nurse Manager, including Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Health. Our Clinical teams receive excellent support from our ancillary staff. We are a training Practice and have several GP Registrars. We also provide undergraduate teaching to years 1 and 2 medical students and support student nurses and pharmacists. We are members of the Bridgend East Network Cluster and Pen y Bont Health Federation, the first federated GP Cluster in Wales. We use EMIS computer system. We are also proud to be a Park Run Practice.
Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will join an established nursing team who will work alongside other multidisciplinary team members and can work autonomously. Following practice and national guidelines to ensure that our patients receive the best care and that their health needs are met.

* Assessment skills which identify nursing care.

Qualifications
