The Opportunity
We are excited to be looking for a Business Development Support to join the Business Development team at Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket.
About Us
Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire Cricket, is an award-winning world-class stadium and venue. It is recognised as one of the UK’s most prestigious venues for sport, business, leisure and entertainment with a capacity of up to 50,000 people for concerts; 26,000 for international cricket matches; meetings and events spaces for up to 2,000 delegates; a four-star hotel with 250 rooms; and an on-site Caffè Nero.
The venue has played host to some of the world’s biggest sporting events, including six ICC Cricket World Cup fixtures in 2019, Ashes Test Matches and world class concerts. In previous years we have welcomed performances from Harry Styles, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and had numerous cricket matches, including England one day internationals and a test match. Key Responsibilities
* Conduct research work to generate new pipeline business for the Business Development team (leads/generate appointments and show-rounds/enquiries)
* Research in relation to targeting specific industries/events
* Research in relation to Trade Shows/Meet The Buyer style events/Networking events that we could attend in the future
* Follow up on new business leads from the Business Development Team and wider Commercial team – Warm calling
* Pro-actively contact lapsed/cancelled and turn down business to develop new business leads
* Pro-actively call contacts on new existing/new databases
* Create a monthly report outlining the amount of pipeline business that has been generated, the number of appointments that have been scheduled in for the Business Development team and an outline of sales activity conducted (telephone calls/research undertaken)
* Attend the weekly Team Meeting
* Attend the Sales Meeting on a weekly basis reporting on actions achieved
* Inclusion in the development of the Sales Plan and activity
* Deliver outstanding customer service in all processes and procedures, continually looking at how we improve our service delivery
Essential Requirements
* Passion for Sales
* Good Communicator - i.e. verbal and written
* Pro-active with confidence to call prospective clients, agents and other venues
* Excellent research skills
* IT Literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft packages, particularly in Word and Excel. A working knowledge of Rendezvous booking system very useful.
* Strong Negotiation skills
* Excellent administration skills, strong attention to details and the ability to prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines
