About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Customer Service/Transport Coordinator to join our team in Aston Clinton. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our transport operations and ensuring an excellent post-order customer experience. You will also help drive efficiency and cost reduction across transport logistics.
This role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for monitoring transport costs, optimizing deliveries, and liaising with various teams to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Make outgoing calls to confirm delivery details and respond to incoming queries.
2. Process and update sales orders for UK and international customers.
3. Maintain transport logs, update Proof of Delivery (POD) records, and optimize delivery schedules.
4. Work closely with Sales, Production, and Quality departments to ensure products are ready for dispatch.
5. Assist in managing transport costs, including driver wages, fuel expenses, and third-party hauliers.
6. Prepare and manage dispatch paperwork, delivery notes, commercial invoices, and reports on transport performance.
7. Contribute to developing a "right-first-time" culture to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
1. Previous experience in a similar customer service or transport/logistics role.
2. Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency in standard computer applications.
3. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
4. A team player with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
5. A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
6. Full UK Driving License is essential.
