Contracts Manager Property Services
Salary:£50,000 per annum
Location:Hybrid, with 1 day a week in our Dorchester office
Hours:Full time (35 hours)

We are seeking a skilled Contracts Manager to oversee the management of servicing and responsive repair contracts throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of long-term agreements, contractual requirements and procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and will be able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Property (Asset) Team and work collaboratively with managers within the team and across the business to manage current responsive and servicing contracts, whilst planning and executing procurement exercises with the support of a Contracts Assistant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either construction, social housing, repairs, or a similar field. Public sector experience is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain contract records and documentation, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
* Monitor contract performance, challenge poor performance and agree plans for improvement in line with contract documents.
* Collaborate with internal teams
* Conduct risk assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate contractual risks.
* Plan and complete procurement exercises with customers in mind and to ensure continuity of our repairs service and landlord obligations.
About you
* Recognised construction management qualification or similar
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, fulfilling the role of Contract Administrator.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Experienced in procuring contracts via tender and negotiation and the legal requirements applicable to the public sector.
* A strong background in construction, social housing or repairs (desirable)
