Locum Consultant Radiologist subspecialty in Gynaecological Imaging
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant General Radiologist with subspecialty interest in gynaecological imaging to join the existing team of 50 radiologists at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Additional subspecialty interests are also welcomed.
Main duties of the job
The post is designed to share responsibility for provision of a comprehensive gynaecological imaging service including MDT provision, ultrasound, MRI, specialist vetting and fertility imaging review (HSG and HyCoSy). The successful candidate will work alongside the existing 3 consultants currently supporting the service.
Person specification
Education, Qualifications & Special Training
* Full GMC registration
* Fellowship Royal College of Radiologists (or equivalent).
* CCT in radiology and entry on Specialist Register (or expected within 6 months of interview).
* MD, PhD or other postgraduate degree.
Particular skills and experience
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in radiology.
* Broad skills in general and cross-sectional imaging including acute imaging services.
* Ability to offer expert opinion on full range of standard and subspecialist gynaecological imaging.
* Able to vet, supervise and report benign and malignant gynaecological MRI studies.
* Ability to vet, review and report functional fertility imaging (HSG, HyCoSy).
* Ability to support gynaecology MDT work in a cancer centre.
* Able to provide ultrasound supervision and imaging review.
* Ability to supervise radiology StRs across a broad range of imaging.
* Willing to participate in radiology on-call rota.
* Ability to undertake advanced ultrasound, including contrast and fusion studies.
* Ability to perform functional fertility studies (HSG/HyCoSy).
* Experience of obstetric/placental imaging with MRI/US.
Research and clinical audit
* Ability to apply evidence-based approach to management of clinical problems.
* Evidence of completed audit projects.
* Completion of clinical research.
* Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
* Ability to undertake basic science research.
* Ability to lead research team.
* Previous success in grant applications to national funding bodies.
