Farm Manager - Maldon, Essex
Are you an experienced farm manager with a passion for farming and a knack for leadership? We're looking for a Farm Manager to take the reins of a diverse and family-friendly farm in beautiful Maldon, Essex. If you're ready to manage both livestock and arable farming, lead a team, and drive farm operations to success, we want to hear from you!
What you'll be doing:
Livestock Management: Oversee sheep care, including feeding, watering, mucking out, monitoring animal health, and ensuring welfare. Manage the team with tasks such as tagging, branding, and weaning young stock, as well as coordinating the loading/unloading of stock trucks.
Arable Farming: Lead the planning and implementation of growing a variety of crops including wheat, vegetables, and grains. Supervise sowing, fertilisation, spraying, and harvesting activities. You'll also oversee the operation of machinery such as tractors and combine harvesters.
Team Leadership & Operations: Manage and support a dedicated team, ensuring all tasks are carried out to a high standard. Oversee farm operations including maintenance of fences, hedges, and equipment, and ensure accurate records are kept for livestock and crops.
Hours & Benefits:
* Permanent, Full-Time with 8 AM - 5/6 PM working hours, with flexibility during busy seasons like lambing and harvest.
* 22 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (please note, leave restrictions may apply during peak farming periods).
