Our client has been established for more than half a century and is a market leader in the manufacture of bespoke panel products for an array of furniture applications. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Quality Technician to complement their professional manufacturing team.
Reporting to the General Manager and based near Colchester, the successful Quality Technician candidate will be tasked with maintaining and developing the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring quality assurance across all aspects of production. With excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels, you will liaise with both internal departments as well as external customers and suppliers to ensure that quality standards are adhered to.
Core Duties Will Include (but Not Be Limited To):
1. Assisting the General Manager with the maintenance of the QMS and the development of current and new processes and procedures in line with the Company’s stated quality objectives.
2. Undertaking part/production inspection against documented quality requirements.
3. Representing the business while interacting with customers to resolve quality issues and assisting with the communication of quality requirements throughout the Company.
4. Performing internal quality investigations initiated by both customer complaints and non-conformances, proposing corrective and preventive actions, and managing through to resolution.
5. Undertaking defect investigations including RCA and conducting internal audits of the QMS when required.
6. Producing production checklists for key customers to facilitate factory workflow and maintaining the master electronic drawing register through the addition of new and up-issued files received from customers.
7. Ensuring compliance at all times with relevant Health and Safety legislation.
To be considered for this varied and challenging Quality Technician role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HND level or above in a relevant engineering or technical discipline and demonstrate at least 3 years of experience working in a quality role aligned to an engineering or manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will have successfully completed ISO 9001 internal auditor training, be able to interpret engineering and technical drawings, and be knowledgeable of quality tools and systems and associated lean continuous improvement methodologies.
