Job Description
Job Purpose
Act as Assistant to the School Business Manager providing the safe and efficient management of The Cabin at Southroyd Primary School.
To support performance management and improvements for the services provided within The Cabin (childcare provision and lettings opportunity)
To contribute to increasing and sustaining active participation of Southroyd School within the local community for mutual benefit.
Responsibilities
* Supporting admissions and attendance administration in school.
* Lead on The Cabin’s and whole school’s social media presence; attract new audience, manage the content and drive current and future marketing plans.
* Lead on the safe, efficient and effective operation of the Cabin, including the management of the operation, program and development of the center.
* To assist with the management and leadership of all members of staff under their control.
* To lead on the management of the maintenance of the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation, both in respect of the facilities themselves and the staff.
* To assist in the implementation of training programs, including the carrying out of training needs assessments and individual appraisal reviews.
* To assist with the correct and efficient operation of all licensed bar/catering activities where applicable.
* To assist in developing and implementing service delivery plans and marketing plans for The Cabin, by working with the School Business Manager.
* To contribute to the effective management of health and safety within the facility
* To undertake projects required by the school business manager and/or the service.
* To create and support effective working relationships with managers and stakeholders across Leeds City Council and to create and support effective formal and informal partnerships with internal and external agencies.
* To act as a key holder and be available for emergency call-out as necessary.
* To assist the School Business Manager to ensure maximum utilization and income at the facility, including the development of action plans.
* To assist in the management and the undertaking of administrative duties relating to the operation of the facility.
* To assist with budget planning, preparation and reporting on the operation of the facility.
* Use hosting and organizational skills to lead on the management of the programs/activities/major events at the facility.
* To effectively support the management of the appropriate budgets in accordance with Leeds City Council’s Financial Regulations.
* To undertake any other duties which may be assigned by the Headteacher from time to time and that are commensurate with the grade of the post.
* To undertake the accountabilities of the post in accordance with council policies including the Safeguarding of Young People and Vulnerable Adults, Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety policies.
Essential requirements
* Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form, with a wide range of people individually, in groups and at all appropriate levels.

* Able to assist in the development of brand and marketing of the Cabin

* Ability to set and implement high standards of customer service.
* Proficiency with MS Office programs, data management systems etc.
* Knowledge of budgetary and accounting procedures.
* Knowledge of health and safety issues.
* Knowledge of quality assurance systems and their application to a leisure environment.
* First Aid at Work certificate (preferable) or willing to attend a course
* Experience of working as part of a management team
* Experience of developing business/marketing plans.
* Experience of business planning process.
* Act as a keyholder and emergency call out.
* Able to work unsociable hours if needed including evening and weekends including emergency cover and short notice cover.
* Willing to change shifts when necessary.
* Driving license
* Willing to drive a minibus – full training given
