Job Purpose
We've got a great opportunity for a Payment Control Assistant to join our Purchasing team. As a Payment Control Assistant, you'll act as the initial point of contact for supplier and internal customer queries by phone or email regarding purchase and payment queries.
You'll also provide excellent customer service for both internal and external customers via telephone and email queries.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Act as the initial point of contact for supplier and internal customer queries by phone or email regarding purchase and payment queries, providing excellent customer service.
* Provide the full Payment Control process including cheque production, Bankline, CHAPS, Bacs, CIS, debit balances, and duplicate payments.
* Liaise with stakeholders (e.g. bank, treasury, audit, card managers, cardholders, and senior managers).
* Comply with established controls within your team, the department, and United Utilities.
* Reduce non-compliant spend and improve supplier payment on time.
* This list is not exhaustive; you may be asked to cover activities within the Purchasing Team.
Technical Skills & Experience
* Must be computer literate with expertise in Microsoft Office.
* Must be customer-focused and service-driven.
* Experience of SAP MM and FI is an advantage.
Qualifications
* Must have a basic level of education (5 GCSEs / O'Levels, including Maths and English) or equivalent.
