Job Description: Are you an experienced NDT Technician wanting to be a part of a hard working and highly dedicated team? Cosworth is seeking a NDT Technician to support our Central Quality Team at our Northampton site. The Role: To carry out daily checks for both penetrant and magnetics and keep log up to date. To inspect components for discontinuities to prescribed specifications. To collect and send penetrant samples for analysis. Maintain NDT equipment and standards in line with the international, Cosworth and customer requirements. In addition to the above, the NDT technician will be expected to fulfil any other reasonable requirements consistent with departmental objectives. Maintain consumables levels. Keep personal qualifications including eye tests up to date. Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities. Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice. Candidate Profile: Technical specialist. NDT Level Il qualification to BS EN4179 NAS 410 or working toward. Able to exercise technical judgement, using sound engineering principles and appropriate experience. Effective in planning, management, and implementation of NDT activities. Familiar with following and using quality systems and procedures. Understand and take account of technical, commercial, and competitive factors that characterise the business. Able to select and deliver technical and company information for effective internal and external communication. Personal and professional integrity and responsible attitude to the requirements within a manufacturing and engineering environment. Able to interact with others to operate effectively within team activities. Desirable: Computer literate in Microsoft office. A good understanding of NDT International standards. A good understanding of Quality Standards AS9100 and IS09001. Good understanding of machined aluminium components, castings and forgings.
