HGV Technician Required in Brighton & Hove, West Sussex
1. Basic Salary Up to £35,000
2. On Target Earnings £40,000 +
3. Commercial Vehicle Main Dealer
4. Mon – Fri 07:00 – 16:00, 1 in 2 Saturdays 08:00 – 14:00 (paid at overtime)
5. Occasional Cover for Late shift 15:00 – 22:00 - £45 shift allowance
Our Client a Family-owned company for over 100 years with multiple locations across the Southeast are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their friendly team. Our client has a great reputation of being a family friendly business and provides a great working environment. They are very established within the Commercial Vehicle sector and benefits from strong manufacturer support.
Our Client has a strong reputation within the market and great reputation within the local area. They have a large a successful service operation and our looking to expand their team of HGV Mechanics to keep up with demand. They represent the market leading brand within the Commercial Vehicle Sector and had strong ties to the HGV Manufacturer.
Ideally our client is seeking applications from applicants with previous experience within the repair and maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles, however we would be willing to assess applications from similar industries such as Coach or Bus Mechanics.

Duties of an HGV Technician with our Client:
17. Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard
18. Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
19. Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
20. Liaise with parts department to attain parts
21. Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner.
22. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
23. Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses.
What our client expects of their HGV Technician:
24. Preferably qualified within Heavy vehicle service and maintenance – Level 2 or 3.
25. Other Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or Time Served.
26. Level 1 HGV Qualified with experience may be considered.
27. Current driving licence.
28. HGV Licence isn’t essential but preferable.
29. Able to work independently and well with a team.
30. Comfortable with reporting jobs via an IT based system.
