This job has been created to help deliver on the aims of community transformation, improve inclusion and access to mental health treatment for service users with drug and alcohol problems, and improve system-wide integrated working across a range of providers. You will work closely with our Drug and Alcohol Partnership as part of this role. In addition to clinical work, strategic work and training provision, we would be expecting the post-holder to take a proactive role in demonstrating outcomes and the value of this role to the system. Previous consultant experience is desirable but not necessary. We welcome applications from suitable applicants who are currently in 8b roles but have the right clinical background and experience, and in that case a BPS national assessor will be on our interview panel to advise as as to whether the interviewees meet national standards for consultant psychologist posts, and to identify any potential development needs. A lived experience interviewer will also be on our interview panel.
