GSL Education are looking for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant, across primary client schools located in Washington, starting ASAP.
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary) to join our team in Ashington. This role offers a rewarding chance to work closely with students who need extra support in managing their emotions and behaviours, helping them to thrive in a positive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary):
* Support students with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
* Provide one-on-one support to students who need extra help.
* Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Manage challenging behaviours with a calm and patient approach.
* Work closely with other staff members and parents to ensure each child’s needs are met.
* Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to have one processed immediately.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary), essential requirements include the following:
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs in a school environment.
* A caring and nurturing attitude towards supporting children.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to stay calm and work well under pressure.
* A relevant qualification in education or child care is desirable but not essential.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
