Your ability to plan strategically and exercise political awareness is crucial, as is your commitment to managing diversity and fostering an environment of mutual respect. You have experience handling housing claims relating to the Landlord and Tenant Act, Environmental Protection Act, and leasehold disrepair. What the Job Involves Your role is to provide high-quality, cost-effective legal advice and support to the Council specifically in the areas of housing law and disrepair. You will manage the Housing Disrepair team, offering briefings and training to senior managers on legal developments. You will represent the Council in legal proceedings and ensure all departments operate within the law, supporting strategic corporate initiatives. Tasked with liaising with external legal service suppliers and monitoring related budgets, you will report to senior directors. Additionally, you will oversee the implementation of the Council’s Equal Opportunities policies and manage staff supervision and appraisal within your team.
