Specialist/ Technical Chemist – Inorganic (ICP-MS, ICP-OES)

Our client, part of a global testing organisation, is looking to expand their technical team and hire a new Inorganic Technical Specialist who will play a key role in developing, optimising and validating new test methods.
The Role:
1. Research and develop new and diverse Inorganic methods (ICP-MS/ICP-OES).
2. Investigate and conduct non-routine methodology and data generation as required by client and business.
3. Assist in investigations, review and presentation of resource developments that would improve analytical methodology.
4. Contribute to development, compilation and presentation of method validation packages in line with accreditation requirements.
5. Support organics department in areas requiring advanced expertise in analytical chemistry.
6. Assist quality team in scheduled audits.
7. Respond to client queries promptly and professionally, either directly or in support of other colleagues.
8. Develop and implement business improvement ideas across all areas of the organics lab to enhance instrument availability, reduce re-work, and improve the quality of analytical capabilities and client service.
9. Support the sales and marketing team on technical matters and assist in winning new clients and onboarding them smoothly.
10. Assist in future planning for the organics lab, including capacity assessments, choice of new instruments, and purchasing of consumables.
The Person:
1. Will hold a Degree in a relevant Science-based discipline.
2. Significant Method Development and Method Validation experience in a UKAS 17025 setting (essential), working with ICP-MS/ICP-OES.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and stakeholders.
4. Effective communicator.
5. Strong written/report writing skills.
