Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating Mental Health Review Tribunals, Section Renewals, and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users. This will involve preparing and arranging paperwork to support the meetings, with the support of the Mental Health Act Manager.
You will also supervise the financial administration of the unit’s Client Fund Account, petty cash float, and safety deposit facility through the effective and efficient application of local procedures and processes.

Your responsibilities will include:
1. Having knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act, and any subsequent legislation.
2. Ensuring invoicing of patients' enhanced support is completed and submitted to head office.
3. Managing the deposit of cash, cheques, and other receipts, and the withdrawal of funds required to sustain a substantial petty cash float.
4. Liaising with patients, their families, and carers to identify financial needs and entitlements, and working with social workers to provide assistance and information for claiming statutory benefits and accessing banking facilities.
5. Assisting social workers with the accurate and timely completion, processing, and monitoring of DoLS paperwork.
6. Providing patients, relatives, legal representatives, and official agencies with the necessary information and documentation for detention, registration, and admission under the MHA.
7. Organising and servicing associated meetings, ensuring timely production, collation, and distribution of reports, minutes, and documents.
8. Ensuring all information and documentation are processed in line with policies and procedures, maintaining an audit trail for regulatory compliance and data accuracy.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
1. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act, and subsequent legislation.
2. Experience in a similar environment.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
