Salary: £12.30 per hour (Cleaner) | £13.05 per hour (Cleaning Supervisor) (not including holiday pay)

Abingdon School is a leading independent day and boarding school with around 1000 pupils aged 11-18. The School is situated in 35 acres of beautiful grounds in the centre of Abingdon, just south of Oxford. Abingdon School will admit girls to its First Year (Year 7) and Sixth Form (Year 12) from September 2026.
Cleaner and Cleaning Supervisor – The Roles:
Join our friendly and efficient housekeeping team as a Cleaner or a Working Cleaning Supervisor. The Housekeeping Department maintains high standards of cleanliness across all Abingdon Foundation sites.
Cleaners are responsible for maintaining designated areas to the required standard, while the Cleaning Supervisor will both carry out cleaning duties and supervise the team during allocated shifts. Duties may vary, and flexibility is essential. You may be asked to carry out other reasonable tasks by the Head of Housekeeping.
Available Shifts:
Cleaner:
Monday to Friday, 5:30am – 8:30am (15 hours/week), all year round.
Salary: £9,622.88 per year
Cleaning Supervisor:
Monday to Friday, 5:30am – 9:00am (17.5 hours/week), working 38.4 weeks per year (34 term-time weeks plus 4.4 weeks during holidays).
Salary: £10,522.21 per year

Cleaner and Cleaning Supervisor – You:
- You’ll be punctual, reliable, flexible, and able to manage your time effectively to deliver a consistently high standard of cleanliness
- For the Cleaner role, previous experience is a plus but not required, training will be provided
- The Supervisor should have some experience in cleaning and be confident in guiding and giving feedback to team members
