Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced E-Procurement Officer to join Stoke on Trent Council's Centralised Buying Team on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The Role: To support Procurement Operations and Payments activity from source to payment that underpins the Council’s objectives to transform Procurement & Commercial Services into a leading edge and professional organisation through becoming more focused, more integrated, more disciplined through. Key Duties / Responsibilities To support the development of the Central Buying functions To engage and work closely with the Category Management team to align purchasing activity and maximise opportunities to deliver value for money within the buying process To gain an understanding of the Category both internally and externally Negotiating with suppliers to agree prices, quantities, delivery schedules and exclusivity deals Researching new supply markets, products and service provision and to support the development of supply markets in conjunction with the Category Strategy. To support the delivery and monitoring of a cashable savings process from contract and purchasing efficiencies To engage with suppliers with a focus on SMEs and local suppliers to support the Council’s sustainable procurement strategies To reconcile purchase orders with invoices To assist with enforcing compliance with the “No Purchase Order, No Pay” policy and Purchase Card policy. 13. To support catalogue management and development. Requirements: Experience of purchase ordering and payment process and systems Negotiation skills Commercial awareness Local Government experience (preferrable) Working Arrangements - 2 days on site, 3 days working from home.
