Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of a busy accounts department. About the Job The Assistant Accountant will play an integral role within the accounts function, you'll be responsible for completing and assisting with Assisting in the preparation of quarterly management accounts & annual audit liaising with external auditors Preparation of monthly job costings Management of CIS, PAYE, Bank Reconciliations and VAT functions Review nominal codes & postings ensuring capital items are on Balance Sheet. Posting and reviewing monthly and quarterly journals Maintaining Fixed Asset Ledger Assisting with accounts payable & receivable when required Creating staff payrolls and approving client or supplier payments Ensuring compliance in all areas, such as VAT, Company Vehicles, Fuel, Benefit in Kind Experience, Skills and Attributes Accounts Technician or Part Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / IATI) (or qualified by experience) with at least 1 year relevant experience Strong excel skills A good team player with strong professional work ethic. Experience of Sage 200 would be preferable but not essential.
