First line management for Health Care Assistants working within Claremont School. Support Health Care workers (working with students with tracheostomies) working with multi-agencies to ensure that their training, from external agencies, is up to date. Demonstrate effective networks across the Multidisciplinary team, to ensure successful communication and working relationships, whilst maintaining confidentiality and GDPR compliance. To support, coordinate and faciliate induction programmes for staff related to Health needs of students. This may require involvement of Specialist Community Nursing Services and other Specialist Health Services to ensure the programmes are student specific. To be familiar with current school policies and procedures and participate in the development of new policies and procedures and guidelines as required, and and national policies, guidelines and legislation (for example, medication administration/storage legislation and Supporting Children in school medical conditions. To participate in the recruitment and selection process, related to Health related staff, as appropriate. To coordinate in-service Health training, working with external agencies to ensure that staff are supported to meet the health needs of students. To make referrals to services such as continence and dental. To liaise with Assistant Head Teachers (with responsibility for attendance) and class teacher when there is a health issue which limits a students access to education, to ensure that an attendance agreement is in place and reviewed. To coordinate the administration of medication in schools, working with support of the Health Care Assistant or other relevant staff, to ensure that process is followed and procedure is adhered to.
