* Salary: £40,633 - £45,489
* Flexible Hybrid Working - office in Cambridgeshire
A local authority is currently looking to recruit a Procurement Officer to specifically assist in driving service changes, leading their implementation, and ensuring the successful achievement of desired outcomes.
You will work alongside the Procurement Specialist and will be responsible for:
* Implementation of the updates required to comply with the Procurement Act 2023.
* In line with the Council's Corporate plan, drafting and implementing a Social Value in Procurement Policy.
* Create and deliver training programmes for budget managers and officers to ensure compliance with, and understanding of, the changes made to procurement processes.
* Necessary updates to the Code of Procurement to encompass the above changes.
* Day to day support of the procurement activity, as required. This could be developing existing procurement processes, considering alternative routes to market, and managing the procurement process from project start up through to award.
* Working with all members of staff from start, through to contract award on procurements
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications:
* Hold or working towards Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification, or evidenced relevant Public Procurement experience
* Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023.
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Experience in leading programmes and projects
* Delivering projects including taking work through from initial ideas to delivery
* Demonstrable experience in Public Sector procurement
* A proven track record delivering outstanding performance in a complex organisation
* Co-ordinating and prioritising project work and resources
* Working with senior leadership and senior managers
