Your Role as a Business Development Representative:
The Business Development Representative serves as the initial point of contact for all new sales prospects to help increase customer acquisition. The ideal candidate will cultivate relationships with these prospects to catalyze business development success. This individual may schedule meetings with prospective clients to understand their needs, and they will also work closely with sales and marketing teams to help uncover new business opportunities.
A Day in the Life of a Business Development Representative:
* Create new revenue-generating opportunities by identifying and educating prospects, articulating a clear value proposition, and securing a commitment for demonstrations in an assigned territory.
* Conduct high volume prospecting, utilizing multiple touchpoints including up to 50-60 calls and/or emails daily, and social media engagement (i.e., LinkedIn & Zoominfo) to qualify leads/prospects.
* Work closely with Outside Representatives and Marketing to implement and execute strategies and processes that will help secure assigned goals.
* Provide event (trade shows, webinars) and pre/post-sales support as required.
* Provide accurate and timely updates to Salesforce and management as required.
* Consistently achieve and exceed quotas and goals.
* Conduct yourself professionally and represent Appspace/Marlin in a positive manner.
* Generate appointments utilizing proactive outbound prospecting.
* Work directly with sales and marketing to discover opportunities from leads.
* Demonstrate and teach strong selling and influencing skills.
What You’ll Need:
* Experience demonstrating a software solution via the internet (to a close is a plus).
* Experienced in software sales with prior SaaS company/industry experience a plus.
* Exceptional communication skills and a proven record of high achievement.
* The ability to work collaboratively to achieve common goals.
* Confidence, high desire to succeed, and self-motivated (works well in a fast-paced environment).
* Attention to detail; well-organized, and able to accept and adapt to change.
* Proficiency with a CRM such as Salesforce.
* At least 1 year of lead development, inside sales, or similar experience.
* Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Suite.
* A Bachelor’s degree or comparable business experience preferred.
* The ability to work well in a fast-paced & exciting environment.
