Working on an 'as and when required' basis
The East Lothian Instrumental Music Service provides a service for all primary and secondary schools in East Lothian. We are looking for suitably qualified Instrumental Music Instructors to be on our supply cover list. Instrumental teachers in the following disciplines may apply — Upper Strings, Lower Strings, Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Piano, Guitar and Bagpipes.
While we are looking to recruit to all disciplines we particularly welcome applications from those qualified in teaching:
Brass
Woodwind
Upper Strings
Lower Strings
Percussion
Guitar
Bagpipes
Job Details
To teach pupils individually or in groups to play a musical instrument, develop musical literacy, aural awareness and promote interest in music making, through group playing to enrich school, authority and community identity.

Relevant Qualifications
A recognised music qualification.
PVG Membership This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
