About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Head of Governance to join our team in London on a permanent basis. We currently offer a hybrid style of working.
The successful applicant will manage the Governance and Insurance Teams to ensure that the Guinness group has in place governance, compliance and insurance arrangements to support effective control and direction of the organisation. You will be providing support to Boards and Committees across the Guinness group.

Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Experience of company secretarial work in a medium-sized or large organisation.
2. Experience of providing complex, technical advice to boards, committees and senior management on governance or regulatory matters.
3. Experience of managing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including registers and records and compiling and submitting regulatory returns.
4. Experience of managing or supporting reviews of governance arrangements.
5. Ability to present information in a variety of forms to a high standard, including excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills (including the ability to take excellent meeting minutes).
6. Ability to be a trusted advisor and to maintain confidentiality.
7. Highly organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
8. Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
9. Excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office.
Desirable
1. Previous experience of working in a housing association or public sector body.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Educated to Degree level (Level 6) or higher.
Desirable
1. Chartered Secretary (Associate or Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) or qualified solicitor.
