Job summary
Ravenswood house is male medium and low secure unit, providing assessment, care and treatment for adults with serious mental illness or personality disorder who need to receive their care in either a low or medium secure environment. Most of our patients have either committed a criminal offence or have challenging behaviour.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and progressive Patient Financial Affairs Services team, which provides internal banking facilities for our inpatients within the hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious person to be part of the team providing banking and benefit support to our Service Users.
The administration position will support the day to day running of the service and ensure that it is delivered to an excellent standard, meeting the Service Users' needs.
Successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a good standard of customer service, and supporting individuals as required. It is essential to be approachable, compassionate and offer excellent communication skills and enjoy working closely with Service Users, Visitors, Staff and outside organisations.
Good understanding of basic financial procedures and / or previous cashier experience is advantageous, however, all training will be provided.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday every week; either 08:30 -- 14:30 or 9:00-15:00, totalling 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for provision of the Unit cashiering services which will include petty cash accounting, handling Service User monies, crediting pre-paid debit Card, as well as holding and accounting for patient's property and valuables.
To undertake all administrative and clerical responsibilities to provide financial and benefit services at Ravenswood House.
To administer patient's monies for service users in the unit in conjunction with the current Patient Services Administrator.
To provide sickness and holiday cover for the current Patient Services Administrator at Ravenswood House and and covering Tatchbury Mount services, as required .
