Our client owns and manages leading energy, chemicals, and industrial assets which deliver net zero and stakeholder success. They ensure that sites and assets deliver on their promise to power the transition and drive decarbonisation for a greener future.
Due to continued success, they are now looking to add an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer to their team to provide Electrical, Instrument & Control support and engineering guidance to the maintenance and operations teams. You will provide support both physically and remotely to all sites based in the UK.
Responsibilities:
* Managing emergent work and longer-term planned Engineering & Maintenance issues, along with EC&I project execution, balancing Safety and commercial considerations.
* Ensure robust rollouts of Functional Safety, Cyber Security, Explosive Atmosphere and Electrical Power Distribution Systems Lifecycle management and maintenance ensuring compliance with industry standards, corporate and site policies and procedures.
* Lead and manage small projects, via the Management of Change process from conceptual design through to completions, including management of budget, resourcing requirements and following Operation and Maintenance site requirements.
* Perform simple failure investigations on repeat equipment failures, developing change out strategies to maintain high plant availability.
* Actively support the plant safety schemes such as Near Hits or Incident reports, providing EC&I support where required.
* Engage and assist in the Continuous improvement, development and maintenance of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
* Remain up to date and conversant with EC&I maintenance & engineering good practices, Indg’s, ACOP’s, HSG’s standards, trends and statutory requirements, specifically BS EN 61511, BS EN 60079, HSE-OG-0086 and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
* Undertake assigned audits.
* Contribute to EC&I meetings, team objectives and review policies & procedures as required.
* Act as the EC&I Check/Approve focal point for various Level 2 (Corporate) and Level 3 (Site) practices, guidelines, procedures, work instructions and forms etc.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Must hold a Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
* Be an Incorporated or Chartered professionally registered engineer, or be able to work towards this in 12 months.
* Have demonstrable experience of successful contribution in a 24/7 industrial environment in which COMAH experience is preferred.
* Be able to work cross-functionally, individually, and in a team delivering policies, initiatives, and compliance to meet business requirements.
* Have experience with developing, implementing, and evaluating systems, upgrades, improvements, and modifications.
* Have an understanding of Management of Change processes and a process safety awareness.
* Have practical experience of Functional Safety, Cyber Security, DSEAR, and Electrical Power Systems Management.
* Understand PTW systems and documents.
* Understand quality systems, standards, and applications.
* Have a good working knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Be prepared to travel/stay overnight, in order to carry out role & responsibilities within both UK and Europe.
