Access Talent Group are looking for a skilled Traffic and Highway Engineer to join their office in Leeds. This position will support our Development Planning & Design team who cover a wide range of projects for both public authority and private sector clients, including support on high-profile schemes including TfGM, Canary Wharf, Brent Cross Town, Warwick University, re-development of the US Embassy as well as acting as strategic advisors on the Champions League Final, UEFA and World Rugby.
You will be expected to work as part of an international team providing design advice and solutions to both private and public sector clients. This position requires an enthusiastic, hard-working person, who wants to be part of our growing dynamic teams based at our Leeds office.
Responsibilities:
1. Support our highway design advice offer across the company both in the UK and internationally.
2. Lead work streams within projects, ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently.
3. Deliver high quality highway and transportation advice as part of multi-disciplinary teams across a range of transport related projects including major developments, highway related regeneration projects and sustainable transport initiatives.
4. Deliver excellent joined-up and high-profile transportation and highway projects in the UK, which contributes to the company’s reputation for delivering excellence.
5. Manage multi-disciplinary projects, sub consultants and manage support staff assigned on a project basis as required.
6. Take responsibility of key projects deliverables through project initiation, feasibility and preliminary and detailed designs.
7. Prepare and present reports, proposals, briefing notes and design reports.
8. Manage project budgets exercising effective financial and budgetary control.
9. Contribute to the production and delivery of proposals and marketing materials related to our market area from time to time.
Candidate Profile:
1. Possess relevant experience in the design of highway and traffic engineering, ideally with experience of Section 38 / 278 agreements and Section 106 agreements. AutoCAD Skills would be desirable.
2. Demonstrate strong analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Be able to influence colleagues and clients through a balance of supportive and challenging behaviours.
4. Comfortable working in creative multi-disciplinary teams with architects etc. and provide positive contributions in resolving complex design problems.
5. Have professional and academic qualifications in transport engineering e.g. BEng or similar; and ideally be working towards Chartership, e.g. CEng.
6. Take responsibility for key tasks and workstreams, successfully managing multiple deadlines in parallel.
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 Per Annum
