Job Description
Glasgow Life is looking for Sport and Physical Activity Coaches (Disability Swim) to join us across 3 x 15 hour part time, permanent contracts and/or bank positions. As a Sport and Physical Activity Coach (Disability Swim), you will be joining our in-demand Disability Learn to Swim programme or our schools swimming programme. You will be part of a dedicated team which supports children and young people with a disability to be water confident and learn to swim safely.
As a Sport and Physical Activity Coach (Disability Swim), you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Sport team, playing your part in encouraging people to live an active Glasgow life. Through sport and physical activity, we promote inclusion and wellbeing throughout the city. From Glasgow Club to our Learn to Swim programmes, the services we provide allow people to experience the life-changing benefits of participating in sports at all levels.

The Role
As a Sport and Physical Activity Coach (Disability Swim), you’ll be an integral part of the team by delivering and implementing a comprehensive learn to swim programme for people with a disability. Reporting to the Sport and Physical Activity Officer (Cohesion) and working alongside an established team of coaching staff.
If you’re interested in joining us as a Sport and Physical Activity Coach (Disability Swim), you’ll need:
* Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) or equivalent
* Considerable experience of working with people with a disability
* Able to easily engage, communicate with, and motivate people with a disability
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to work effectively in a team

Closing date: 19th January 2025 and interviews are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 27th January 2025.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
