So, you’ve got a technical background but love managing people?
As a Development Manager at Cambridge Intelligence, you’ll manage and develop a growing team of talented developers and enjoy driving the development process.
What’s involved?
You’ll actively manage developers, testers and Tech Authors - ensuring that the team is fully utilized and direct reports have goals in place that maximise their professional development. You’ll enjoy owning and driving the development process for your team, providing guidance on a team and individual level. You’ll support the development team by facilitating, enabling and unblocking, driving continuous improvement.
Requirements
Who’s the ideal candidate?
You’ll have a proactive management style, driving enthusiasm within the team and identify potential problems before they arise. You’ll have experience of managing at least one Agile software development team, and possess a balance of technical competence and excellent people management skills.
You might also have:
* Technical competence - a deep understanding of the code and architecture is not required, but a high level appreciation will be necessary in order to recognise dependencies and blocking factors. Our tech stack is TypeScript, JavaScript and React
* Strong communications skills - facilitate and coordinate shared vision and feedback between the development and production teams.
* Led and supported continued career development and provided guidance on professional development plans.
* Experience of working with data visualization or analysis
Who you’ll work with
We have four development teams, each made up of JavaScript developers, working alongside technical writers, test engineers and a development manager. You’ll also work closely with a DevOps/Platform team, and product managers who’ll help you stay on track.
