Detention Custody Officer (DCO) – Immigration Services - France (juxtaposed sites - Coquelles, Calais, Dunkirk)
Salary: £31,537 per annum
Hours: 42 hours per week – 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern
Please note you must be able to remain in France for the duration of your 4 on shift pattern; there is no provision to travel back to the UK during this period. Accommodation, meals, and travel are provided.
You must have a UK valid in-date passport or settled status in the UK (indefinite leave to remain is not classed as settled status) and must have held a UK manual car driver's licence for 1 year.

Your new role as DCO will require you to work in a holding room where you will ensure the safety and security of the residents in your custody. No specific role experience or qualifications are required to be a DCO as full training and supported development are given. Experience of dealing sensitively with a wide variety of people who have been agitated, confused, or angry would be an advantage.
You'll begin your Care & Custody career completing a 4-week initial training course. Please note that this course may be in a separate location to the role. This will develop the skills needed to professionally deliver this rewarding, sometimes challenging role with integrity and respect.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
1. UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.
2. Valid and in-date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK.
3. Continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years with no more than 3 months spent overseas at any one time.
4. Be over 21 years of age.
5. Specific driving compliance is attached to this role.
6. Full UK manual driving licence with at least 12 months post-qualifying experience.
7. Fewer than 7 points on your UK Driving Licence.
8. Have not been subject to a driving ban within the last 12 months (from date of ban ending).
9. Not currently bankrupt.
10. The position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; Successful candidates will be required to undergo Enhanced DBS and vetting to a level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC).
