We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to join our Operations Team at Middlesbrough!
Duties
To deliver the safe, efficient, and effective management of various operational tasks in a chemical production and warehouse environment, maintaining compliance to the relevant standards, to ensure alignment on working toward shared company goals, ensuring a safe working environment, controlling costs, and delivering outstanding service to our customers. To effectively communicate on all department related matters to all people and ensure the effective training and coaching of the team.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
EHSQ:
• Management of site personnel ensuring that they adhere to site safety rules and that regular checks/audits of site standards and behaviour are taking place.
• Through leadership and active involvement ensure compliance to: - Statutory requirements, Quality procedures, Responsible care, Insurance requirements, and Company policy statements including employment and disciplinary procedures.
• Cooperate on all matters concerned with H&S, training, legislation, and the environment.
• To take responsibility with safety related activities, acting as site Incident Controller for Emergency Response and delivering the sites safe systems of work standards via the defined company Permit to Work system.
• To report and investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and escalate to the relevant staff.
• To manage and reduce risk using available tools such as Risk Assessments, Safety Critical Task Analysis, etc and drive any assigned actions.
Cost Management:
• Ensuring effective cost management in all controllable areas, including overtime and agency spend.
• Reducing and managing waste efficiently.
• To assist with the PI counting functions ensuring stock accuracy through effective RF system and SAP usage.
• To manage the return of site empties liaising with transport and central planning and network sites to ensure we return them cost effectively.
• Adding value to the business through continuous improvement, recommending ways in which the site can improve profitability and operating effectiveness.
Service Excellence:
• To ensure the Operations team picks, loads and dispatch all outbound traffic to the correct selling standards and timescale.
• To safely operate the warehouse activities supporting the other operational teams and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Report on any errors in customer special instructions and liaise with sales to ensure that warehouse information is up to date and correct.
• Use and knowledge of SAP with the requirement to complete various job specific processes.
• To investigate stock shortages as necessary
• Continuously improve stock accuracy and quality by embedding high repeatability & standards to work practices
People:
• Provide direction, focus and leadership to the team, through effective management and controlling department activity.
• To recruit and ensure that new personnel receive appropriate induction training.
• To regularly, review staff performance against agreed objectives providing training and coaching where required.
• Involvement with any personnel concerns such as Disciplinary & Grievance.
• Competency development of self and team members.
