Job overview
This role offers an opportunity to be part of the dynamic radiotherapy team at UCLH. The post-holder will be a core member of the Radiotherapy Services team leading on the delivery of the transfer of the paediatric services programme. Leading on ensuring that all staff and partners in the programme deliver agreed actions and deadlines and work with divisions, corporate services (including finance) in the development of business cases for the programme. UCLH is seeking a committed individual with the energy and focus to continue building on the existing service of excellence.
The post holder will ensure that their work delivers a high-quality service that is patient focused, maximises the potential of all available resources and fosters an atmosphere of innovation and continuous improvement in accordance with Clinical Governance standards. The post holder will work to ensure that the programme develops in line with key Trust Priorities.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a core member of the Radiotherapy Services team leading on the delivery of the transfer of the paediatric services programme.
Leading on ensuring that all staff and partners in the programme deliver agreed actions and deadlines.
Work with divisions, corporate services (including finance) in the development of business cases for the programme.
Establishing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners in the delivery of the programme providing management support and advice.
Leadership of staff within the transfer of the paediatric services programme including leadership and management trainees.
Being a lead strategic link person for a designated division/s to support the development and delivery of the programme priorities.
Ensuring robust governance and risk management processes in relation to the services within the remit of the role.
Articulate a vision of the programme and communicate to all staff disciplines what has to be done to achieve this vision.
Dissemination of information to medical, clinical physics, radiography staff, and other healthcare professionals both in the internally within the trust, externally to all stakeholders, as well as nationally and internationally via presentations and publications.

Person specification
Knowledge & Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent (or able to demonstrate equivalent level of equivalent experience)
* Health Profession Council (HPC) registration as a therapy radiographer.
* Extensive knowledge of health care services
* Masters qualification or equivalent (or working towards same)
* Clinical experience in Radiotherapy.
* Participation in audit/clinical governance.
* Knowledge and experience of project management using tools
Experience
* Work in a large and complex organisation (public or private)
* Relevant programme management experience with track record of delivery
* Experience of designing and executing and managing complex, large-scale projects
* Use excellent communication skills to relate confidently across all professional boundaries to Trust staff and external contacts.
* Knowledge and understanding gained through experience of • Techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes • Problem solving techniques • Change management techniques • Quality improvement techniques • Stakeholder management and communications • Risk management and issue resolution • Experience of service redesign and development
* Experience of operating through influence and networks rather than direct authority
* Experience of leadership of complex teams including the development, empowerment and engagement of staff.
* Significant experience of working with partners and stakeholders in delivering sensitive changes to services
* A proven success in business planning and in the development and effective implementation of projects
* Demonstrable record of successful line management of staff and proven team leadership and motivational skills.
* Experience of management experience within the NHS
Skills & Abilities
* High standard of written work including creation of formal reports and/or business cases
* Strong understanding of multidisciplinary issues and commitment to multidisciplinary working
* Developed communication skills including negotiation with a proven ability to liaise effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* IT literate including extensive knowledge of Microsoft office and interoperability
