We are looking for Graduates or people in the early stages of their insurance career, that are keen to grow their professional experience with an innovative Insurance business that loves to challenge the status quo. Due to continued growth we have a new opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant to join CFC's Corporate Cyber department.
About the role
As an Underwriting Assistant you will work closely with the underwriting team in all aspects of underwriting and administrative duties, and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll develop a thorough understanding of CFC’s workflow processes and systems as well gaining exposure to insurance. A role as an underwriting assistant provides a great foundation for a career at CFC, with a number of our underwriters and underwriting team leaders starting their careers here! Day to day responsibilities will see you:
* Review of underwriting files to ensure that correct documentation is held on every risk.
* Responsibility for ensuring that all risks are correctly entered onto the underwriting system.
* Assist with monitoring the performance of the portfolio by preparing and analysing management information.
* Deal with enquiries from brokers.
* Quotation chasing on behalf of the team, including the maintenance of risk chasing lists.
* Producing reports for internal strategy discussions and for external partners (brokers & carriers).
* Forging and maintaining relationships with existing partners.
* Assist with the marketing and launch of new products and coverage enhancements.
* Investigate insurance legislation, regulation and compliance issues relative to transacting business in various territories.
* Team project work, as and when required, ensuring projects are completed on time and to requirements.
* Assist with preparing extensive underwriting reports. This will include in-depth research of submissions, publicly available information and in-house underwriting models/tools.
* Assist with monitoring the performance of the portfolio by preparing and analysing management information.
* Responsibility for the team’s data management. This includes ensuring management information is correct that relevant data sets are being collected and maintained.
* Some business development duties, including, meeting new brokers and clients, raising brokers' and clients’ awareness of products, launching new products and corporate hospitality.

* Proven analytical skills - through your degree subject or previous insurance work experience
* Impeccable organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines and turnaround times;
* Resilient and able to operate effectively and accurately under pressure
* Excellent level of attention to detail including highly accurate numerical skills
* Very strong Excel skills
* Good communications skills both written and verbal
