As the Director of Environment and Estates, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sustainable practices across our health board. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will lead initiatives that reduce our environmental impact, promote green practices, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of our communities.

Main duties of the job
Particular key responsibilities will be to:
7. Hold corporate responsibility, accountable to the Board, for the strategic direction, corporate policymaking, service development and delivery of services within the respective areas of delivery, ensuring that plans are aligned to the overall strategic aims of the Health Board.
8. Provide knowledgeable, professional leadership for the Climate Change, Decarbonisation and Biodiversity agenda. Lead the formulation and deployment of strategy, with others across the Health Board and in association with experts in the field, to ensure that the Health Board has an ambitious strategic plan with clear deliverables.
9. Establish an organisation wide approach to Agile Working, engaging colleagues across the Health Board to develop a strategic approach to Agile Working. Work closely with Trade Union partners in the development and deployment of the approach
Lead the development and deployment of an effective, comprehensive Facilities and Support Services function.

BCUHB provides a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and specialist hospital services across 3 acute hospitals, 22 community hospitals and a network of health centres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units. BCUHB also coordinates or provides the work of GP practices and the NHS services provided by dental and orthodontic practices, as well as optometry practices, opticians and pharmacies in North Wales.

10. Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent Management qualification or equivalent senior level experience.
11. Experience of working and contributing at Board level.
12. Extensive expertise and understanding of: > Business Planning > Budget Setting > Commissioning processes > Performance & Change Management > People Management > Quality improvem
13. In depth understanding of the challenges facing the health service in Wales and the impact of working in a rural setting.
14. Understanding of the NHS modernisation agenda and using this knowledge to develop and implement strategy and service.
