Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and people development? We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing and logistics functions at a high-performing site in Exeter.\n\nIn this pivotal role, you'll work alongside the Operations Director to shape and deliver a strategic business plan, drive continuous improvement, and ensure excellence across cost, quality, service, health and safety, compliance, and performance. You'll lead a talented site team and play a key role in engaging staff with the wider business vision.\n\nThe working hours are 8:30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday - however, you will need to be available to be on call as and when required.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nLead and execute a business plan that aligns operations, engineering, transport, sales, and finance to meet performance goals\nDeliver targets for EBITDA, service levels, and operational efficiency\nManage capital expenditure, maintenance, and inventory to reduce cost and stock losses\nBuild strong cross-functional relationships to enhance collaboration and customer service\nPromote a "safety-first" culture while ensuring full legal, environmental, and feed compliance\nInspire and develop your team with structured succession planning and training programmes\nLiaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and uphold the company's professional reputationRequirements\n\nEssential:\n\nPrevious experience in a senior operational or manufacturing leadership role\nStrong understanding of manufacturing, transport & logistics processes\nCommercial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and costs\nA proactive, results-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement\nStrong leadership and people development skills\nExcellent communication, decision-making, and organisational abilities\nIT literacy and a strong safety and compliance mindsetDesirable:\n\nLocated within 30 miles of Exeter (preferred but not essential)\n\nBenefits\n\nUp to £60,000 salary depending on experience\nCompany car\nPrivate healthcare\nEnhanced pension contributions after 12 months\nEmployee Assistance Programme\nCareer development opportunities\nCycle to work scheme
