Mount Pack and Cool (Mpac) is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Post-Harvest Operation. The successful candidate will join a growing, future-focused company, helping oversee mechanical operations across the Mpac sites (Mount & Tauriko).

Responsibilities include:
* Enhance packing production by ensuring all machinery and automation operates at optimum capacity across the sites.
* Maintain all mechanical operations from bin-dump through to the packing line, including box making and automation.
* Attend to mechanical breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance.
* Plan and execute a proactive preventative maintenance programme.
* Implement and provide guidance to staff regarding workplace health and safety.
* Development and implementation of new engineering projects.
* Increase efficiency throughout the packhouse.
* Communicate with external contractors.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in a relevant trade and be committed to keeping the packhouse and its machinery fully operational. You will be driven to succeed, passionate about contributing to the Mpac culture and striving to pursue our industry-leading results. You will also exhibit a high level of personal initiative, motivation, resilience, and have an excellent attitude and desire to succeed both individually and as a member of the Mpac team.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills with relevant experience to reflect:
* Demonstrate strong mechanical and automation knowledge.
* Hands-on technical skills to enhance and maintain productivity of all machinery in a safe manner.
* The ability to work within a team on projects and be self-sufficient to work alone when required.
* Some knowledge of PLC systems would be beneficial.
* Demonstrate personal initiative, motivation, and resilience.
* MUST be a New Zealand citizen or Permanent resident.
