King’s Lodge Primary School is a lovely place to attend if you are a child and a great place to work as an adult. Working in a school is very different to working anywhere else and whilst the pay doesn’t reflect the hard work – the camaraderie and the rewards do!
Come and join our team if you think you want to make a difference to a child forever.
All about the role:
We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work for the reception class initially. This role will be very rewarding and whilst you do not necessarily need to be experienced, you do need to be able to
• Quickly grasp what the teacher is teaching
• Work well under pressure
• Work successfully in a room full of small bubbly children
• Think on your feet to appropriately answer questions that the children may have about their work and other things
• Be prepared to learn about supporting children and how to help them make good progress
• Have a desire to be part of a hardworking, fun and supportive team
• Have a good standard of education including written and spoken English in order to support phonics learning and early writing
The appointment process includes:
• a high quality application form including as much information as possible so that we can really see your strengths – particularly if you have never done a role like this before
• a formal interview with staff and governors to add more information to the picture we are building of you and how you might fit into our team
• at least 1 session of working with children to observe how you develop respectful relationships with children at our school.
