The Regis School is a thriving school which sits at the heart of its community. It is one of the biggest employers in the town of Bognor Regis and boasts state-of-the-art facilities. Leaders have created an inclusive and caring environment, with a strong focus on curriculum, good teaching, personal development and effective pupil support. Students are respectful and behave well; lessons are calm and free from disruption. The school has the confidence of its community – it is successful and consistently oversubscribed, with around 1,650 pupils on roll.
With the recent promotion of the Principal internally within the Trust, we are now looking for a new leader to show the same dedication and commitment, who will continue to move the school forward as it aspires to become a genuinely excellent school. We are looking for a leader with the highest expectations, committed to continuous improvement, who believes that extraordinary success is possible for all pupils, including and especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The new Principal will take over a successful school which has great strengths, much good practice, a committed staff and a highly positive culture and climate. Our aim now is for The Regis School to become exceptional. You will be an energetic people person who builds teams, wants to apply best practice, learn, share and collaborate with other Principals and schools and is determined to do their best for the children both now and in preparation for their futures.
United Learning is a big group of schools – with over 75,000 pupils and more than 10,000 staff – so we have the capacity to support you educationally and operationally. At the same time, we are values-led and base all that we do on good relationships, so you will be joining a big family. Reporting directly to the Regional Director, you will be supported both personally and professionally, benefitting from the strength of a national Group who will support your development and that of your staff and school.
We are committed to fairness, diversity and inclusion. We are currently working hard to improve representation of black, Asian and minority ethnic leaders at headship level and to raise our proportion of women leaders to match their representation in our wider workforce.
Whoever you are, if you have a strong track record of improving young people’s education and a drive to do more, we very much look forward to hearing from you.
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged, and we are holding Thursday 9th January for applicant tours. We recognise this is after the closing date for this particular role, but would encourage anyone who does apply to take a tour ahead of the interview process.
