An exciting and rare vacancy has arisen for an Associate Lead Nurse Mental Health to join our team in the beautiful Argyll and Bute.
This is a highly regarded and dynamic professional nursing leadership post taking responsibility for establishment and workforce reviews, clinical governance, patient safety, and staff wellbeing including innovation and quality improvement and working collaboratively with operational managers to develop and support the mental health landscape.
The Associate Lead Nurse will have responsibility for the standard of Nursing practice across the life span of Mental Health Nursing. This will be across a range of hospital, community, social and domestic settings with a particular focus on the provision of professional workforce standards and safe quality person centered care.
The post holder will provide professional nursing leadership and expert advice within the operational unit across the five NHSH NMAHP Leadership dimensions:
1. Safe, quality care
2. Professional workforce standards, planning and development
3. Service improvement, design/redesign and development
4. Research and innovation
5. Partnership working
The successful candidate will be a registered mental health nurse with a current valid registration with the NMC. A degree or equivalent specialist knowledge is required.
This is a permanent full-time post, working 37 hours per week over five days. A current driving licence is essential for this post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
