EOC Clinical Validator - Mental Health Nurse/Paramedic
The Trust is looking to appoint Mental Health trained and qualified Clinical Advisors EOC (Validators) to work in the Clinical Assessment Service in the Emergency Operations Centres in Norwich and Chelmsford

Main duties of the job
This role intercepts lower acuity and clinically appropriate 999 calls, providing advice and arrange for safe and appropriate care pathways for these patients. The over-riding aim is to appropriately and safely reduce 999 ambulance demand and A&E admissions. The candidate will be an integral part of the evolution and establishment of a Regional CAS that will develop a multi-disciplinary approach to 999 call interception as well as routine triage of non-emergency 999 calls. The successful applicant must hold an NMC nursing registration OR HCPC registered paramedic and be qualified in mental health triage

Person Specification
* Has an NMC registration or Paramedic HCPC registration for at least 2 years
* experience of face to face triage or telephone triage
* Ability to deal with highly distressed callers
* High level of IT dexterity and telephone use
* experience of audit, evaluation and clinical governance

* Experience in the field of A&E, Medical or Primary Care setting.
* Ability to utilise critical analysis skills demonstrating knowledge of differential diagnosis during assessment
