An exciting job role has recently become available at the Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council. They are looking for a new member for their Single Point of Contact team.
We are looking for a Senior Practitioner to support the Team Manager for our Single Point of Contact team. The Single Point of Access Team assess, source support, and review services of adults and carers with eligible needs under the Care Act 2014. The team sit with our Adult Social Care Direct service and undertake assessments with adults who have a range of care and support needs. The team works in a hybrid way, so we require someone who can be on site at least 2 to 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and support staff.
* Ensure effective supervision, appraisal, and professional development of team members.
* Oversee the assessment, planning, and delivery of social care services.
* Lead on safeguarding adults, ensuring robust procedures are in place.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Develop and maintain effective partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
* Registered with Social Work England.
Experience:
* Significant experience in adult social care.
* Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
* Experience in safeguarding adults and working with multi-agency partners.
