North Lanarkshire Council, as one of Scotland’s largest local authorities, is leading an exciting and ambitious regeneration programme for its town centres and surrounding areas as part of its plans for inclusive economic growth. Working with a variety of partners, the Enterprise and Communities service has a key role in guiding this regeneration towards sustainable development. We are committed to creating prosperity and making North Lanarkshire a great place to live, learn, work, invest and visit.
In addition to supporting the growth programme, Housing Property Services is responsible for over 37,000 homes throughout North Lanarkshire and every year we deliver an ambitious multi million pound programme of improvement works across the area. As a Programme Liaison Officer, you will be joining a team that provides our tenants and homeowners with a high level of customer support throughout improvement programmes.
We are continually striving to maintain and improve the quality of people’s own homes and maintain the sustainability of areas. This involves working closely with tenants, owners, technical staff and contractors to satisfactorily progress a variety of works programmes from kitchens to re-roofing. Some tenants are reluctant to accept the opportunity to have home improvements such as having new windows, or a bathroom fitted. Landlords and homeowners are also missing the opportunity to participate in programmes to improve the exterior of their homes. We are looking for individuals to deal with a variety of barriers that may be affecting tenants and their ability to sign up for investment programmes. This will range from communication issues to dealing with physical and mental health and addiction issues.
Confident individuals are needed who have experience of dealing with customers and resolving their issues. You will be an effective communicator, a good team player, you should be able to relate to service users and vulnerable people and have a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
An SVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline is essential. You should also have extended relevant experience in a housing, property or customer focussed environment with a sound knowledge of housing related legislation and practice, excellent IT skills and a genuine commitment to customer care. We are looking for self-motivated applicants who can adhere to processes and procedures whilst working away from their office location.
As an agile worker you will travel throughout North Lanarkshire area to increase customer engagement with investment programmes through individual household visits and promoting public consultation.
You will require to undertake a basic disclosure check prior to commencing this role.
Pattern of work: 17.5 hours per week, every Thursday, Friday and alternating Wednesdays.
Temporary for up to 1 year to cover maternity leave.
